Adult Confirmation

Adult Confirmation Registration (Due by March 9, 2022)

Adults who are interested in receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation must:

1. Be 18 years of age or older

2. Have received the Sacraments of Baptism, Penance, and Eucharist

3. Provide written proof of Baptism (if not baptized at Immaculate Conception Parish in Clarion)

4. Attend an Adult Confirmation Formation session which is currently scheduled for Sunday, March 13, 2022

5. Choose your Confirmation sponsor — Please see requirements listed below

6. Optional: Choose a Confirmation name (adults may use their given name)

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO BE A SPONSOR FOR CONFIRMATION?

A sponsor must meet the following requirements:

1. Be registered in a parish, attending Mass on Sundays and on Holy Days, and contributing to the support of their Church.

2. Be at least 16 years of age and already confirmed.

3. If married, the marriage must be a valid Catholic marriage. Divorced persons are permitted to be sponsors (and are always welcome to the Sacraments!) unless they have remarried outside the church.

4. If the sponsor you choose is from another parish, a "sponsor certificate" from their home parish is REQUIRED. If you need a "sponsor certificate", you must signify in writing that you fulfill the first requirement (above).
